Responsibilities Peraton requires Information Technology Specialists to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3Positions are located at the SOCOM Headquarters at MacDill, AFB FL, and at the TSOC and Component locations in the United States and abroadThe purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) servicesThe responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365The Information Technology (IT) Specialist is responsible for maintaining, analyzing, troubleshooting and repairing personal computer systems, hardware, software, computer peripherals, network, and AV equipmentThe IT Specialist Assists employees via remote access, phone, or in personThe Specialists critical thinking, problem-solving and customer service skills, as well as diverse experience with desktop hardware, software applications, operating systems and network connectivityThis position may be required to provision and maintain mobile devices (NIPR, SIPR and Gray) and other handheld communication devices (radios)The ability to terminate, test and troubleshoot secure/non-secure voice, video, data and radio frequency cable infrastructureThe IT Specialist provides administration of network and communications systems, including, but not limited to Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) systemsThe Specialist requires knowledge of AV/VTC hardware, software and network connectionsThe IT Specialist must have experience in setting up, maintaining and troubleshooting AV equipment (displays, microphones, sound boards etc.
) Duties include but are not limited to:
o Supporting the installation, tuning, testing, operating, monitoring, upgrading, patching, break/fix, defense, and management of LAN routing and switching infrastructure hardware and software.
o Providing LAN services including planning, designing, engineering, configuring, operating, maintaining, defending, troubleshooting, and repairing LANo Providing full lifecycle support of the WAN infrastructure including network installation, tuning, testing, monitoring, upgrading, patching, break/fix, defense, and management of the WAN routing and switching infrastructures, including network hardware ando Supporting messaging services including email, chat, and VTC sessions on behalf of end users to ensure proper operation.
o Troubleshooting, analyzing, and isolating the root cause of problems that arise during a liveo Recommending courses of action to return impacted systems to full operational status.
o Providing VTC MCU services including, but not limited to installing, configuring, integrating, testing, maintaining, operating, and defending teleconferencing hardware and software including MCU VTC bridges and Session Border Controller SIP Trunks.
Planning, installing, configuring, operating, maintaining, defending, managing, repairing, and updating the VTC components including performing software updates, account management, and conference scheduling.
Establishing VTC connectivity to other locations ando Scheduling, coordinating, and administering multiple simultaneous VTCo Recommending upgrades to VTC systems at least annually and incorporate approved upgrades when acquired by the Government.
Planning, designing, setup, configuring, operating, debugging, and removing A/V equipment required to support large meetings and forums both within Government facilities or remoteo Periodically setup and test A/V equipment used to support large meetings in order to verify itso Documenting any failures discovered during the testing process and deliver a detailed report to the appropriate Government entity listing those failures with recommendations for addressing them.
Recommending lifecycle upgrades and improvements to A/V equipment used for large meetings and implement once approved by the appropriate Government entity.
Installing, configuring and maintaining desktop and laptop PCs, mobile devices and peripherals, such as printers.
Installing and configuring application and operating system software ando Supporting multiple device configuration including personal device support ando Removing old equipment and performing data migration to newo Installing, maintaining, and assessing current and future telecommunications systems ando Installing new cable/fiberTerminating and testing new cable/fiberTesting and troubleshooting faulty cable/fiber.
Installing operating system software, patches, ando Analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving system hardware, software, and networkingo Configuring, optimizing, fine-tuning, and monitoring operating system software ando Troubleshooting and resolving LAN/WAN performance, connectivity and related networko Installing, configuring, and maintaining VTCo Troubleshooting and repairing hardware and network connectivityo Some positions may require shift work and/or an ability to work a non-standard work schedule to support the USSOCOM mission Salary range is based on geographical location.
#SITEC2023 Qualifications 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhDo Significant relevant experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
